There is a lake by this name in Webster, MA.  It is an indian name and it means "you fish on your side, I'll fish on my side and nobody fishes in the middle".  Just a bit of trivia to pass on to you while I show you my fish in my pond...

This was our mini meet project for June.  One of our ladies teaches this project in her classes and she was gracious enough to take time to show us how to do one.  She charged a minimum fee and it was well worth the cost as there was quite a bit involved.  She casts the molds and she taught us how to wash them with color and then spray a touch of liquid stone to it.  We then added the ferns and made the cat tails and glued our rocks and fish in.    She then took them home and added the water for us cause we were afraid of the smell going thru the building where we meet.  Then we made the irises and water lilies and put on the moss with the impatients and wha la... Our very own piece of Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagunga maugg

Till next time, Hope you are having a great summer.

Mini Parfaits

I paid way too much for a little parfait dish in Sturbridge the other day,  but I had the same beads at home so I figured I better buy one and take it home so I would remember how they made them.    So here they are.  My version of a parfait dish in miniature....

Tell next time, Mini Hugs, LJ....

1/4 Scale Wall Pics & Rugs

I have a new printer cause the old one kicked the bucket the other day. So hubby and I went looking for a new printer and I ended up with the whole shebang... New puter and printer. Of course the old puter was ten years old and I couldnt write to a cd or dvd writer cause both ports didnt work. It did take my camera card till recently. So this is much better and much faster, much less frustrating. If you dont count having to learn new equipment that is!!! So naturally the first thing I want to print are things for my 1/4 scale house as that house has nothing in it for rugs and wall hangings. Took me a while to figure it out but here they are. Click to make bigger if you will.

I will say the next house I build will be better planned and some things will be placed as it is being built cause hanging things aft the fact in a structure so small is tear out the hair frustrating.... I made those teeny tiny pillows out of polymer clay and used fingernail stickies in the center of them. Cute huh?

Til next time. Happy mini-ing.

The Sturbridge Mini Show

Wow.  What a great time.  I drove down to Jeannie girls house on sat am and we had the best time.  She took me to a railroad store to check out stuff for our mini hobby as she has no dollhouse stores near her.  We then went to Russells, a nursery with tons of plants and the best gift shop in NE I think.  They have all kinds of gadgets and doodads for gardening and all kinds of other things, including a clothing dept.  A really fun place to visit.   Sat. nite her Don made a wonderful creole shrimp boil dinner.  Jeans kids came for supper and I hadnt seen all of them together for years.  Brought back so many happy memories.  Sunday we left early and went to the dollhouse show in Sturbridge.  Whoa....  So many dealers in one place.  The best show I have been to.  Here are some of the things I got.
This will go into my 1/4 scale Craig house when I get it done.

Look at this cute cane/umbrella stand. Dont forget to click to make bigger.  All the canes were in the stand.  I got it for a steal, lol...

This wasnt quite such a buy, but doesn't it look great on my 1/4"  Sears house porch!

We also stopped in at Michaels and I found this great sectioned purse for mini meeting gadgets.  So hard to find things in my tool box so am hoping this will be better for finding things.

Other sundry items

Stickers for minis and greeting cards

Lazy susans to turn my houses around on.

Had a blast.  Thanks Jeannie girl and Don for a wonderful visit....
