Baby gets a new outfit for Easter

Happy Easter to all you bloggers in blogland.  I hope you and your families have a Holy, Joyful Day!

I finished the outfit.  After many tedious attempts  I am going to show it even though it is a little ragged around the edges. I am hoping you will see improvement over time.  I hope, lol...

It is very difficult to keep my stitches even on such small needles using such fine thread. I am sure it will come with practice. The hard part is the edges while knitting. Either I hold them too tight or too loose as I am afraid of losing them off the needle. (ha, that happened a lot and it is hard to pick them up).  I didn't have much problem with life size knitting.  It came to me like a duck takes to water. I will persevere.....
It looks better on the doll on the back side.
Here you can tell it is a wee bit big on the pants. Easy to take care of this as I will run a thread around the waist and tighten it up a bit.
Thank you to Christine of Holly Hock Cottage for explaining to me what a "yfwrd"  meant....

Knitting Bonanza

I fell into a bonanza!!!  A lovely lady sent me an email and asked if I was interested in buying her stash of yarn goods.  Hubby and I went to see her and her collection.  I just couldn't resist.  I bought a lot of yarn most 100% cotton but quite a bit of silk and wool in the mix. It is all good for mini knitting... There is also some patterns, some kits and some knitting supplies in there also.  I won't live long enough to use it all up, but she didn't want to sell it piece meal.  It was all or nothing. I know I didn't pay enough for her very organized collection, but she was kind enough and let me have it for a very modest price.  Thank you so much lovely mini lady.  Hubby and I enjoyed our visit with her and her husband and we will be seeing them again soon I hope.  We saw her fantastic dollhouse and all kinds of wonderful mini things.

Last night when I got home I tried my hand at real mini knitting. I thought that red sweater I made a couple weeks ago was hard....  O E Vay...  I picked a really easy pattern out of one of her books and got the top half-way done when I dropped a stitch.  Almost got it picked up when 5 stitches came out and that was that, lol.  I could not see them well enough to pick them up, even with very good magnification.  Will start again later today once I get some errands done.  The pattern asked for silk thread - one strand.  Tried to separate the strands with no luck at all….  Kept fraying on me, must be a trick to it…. I will keep that thread  for a lacy pattern not having to separate the strands. I picked a tatting thread instead, that didn’t go too badly until I lost that dang stitch….  I will have to ask her about separating silk strands, it is probably just patience I am sure, of which I have none.....   I will also have to ask how to do a  "yfrwd" in some of the  directions I read as I have never come across that term in regular knitting.

Last nights attempt:

Pattern I selected...

Tatting thread I picked.  Doll that little outfit will go on. Needles to knit on...

Attempt on left with silk double thread turned out to be too wide for doll. There is no gauge with this pattern only pictures so I am thinking the picture is the size I should be knitting. Mine turned out just a smidgen over the picture but I held it up to the doll and it will be ok.
Piece on right will fit but lost the stitches on.

Rome wasn't built in a day, lol....

A few weeks ago I won a Give A Way that Little Rabbit Miniatures  (place your little hand on top on these names to go to their site, for some reason they are not underlined.) was holding in order to name her cute little kitten.    Actually  Indy_Poppy of Tails Of Adventure  won with the name of "Whiskers".  Michelle was gracious enough to give  lina of linchens little cottage and myself a gift also for being the first to respond to her give a way.  I had been waiting for the gift to come as Michelle had put a picture of it on her blog and I couldn't wait for it to get here.  It is just beautiful!!!  Delivery was so quick coming all the way from the UK...  What a fantastic job is done with these lovely flowers.  The color looks better in person than my photos, take a look.....

I love the pot the hydrangeas are in.....  Thank you so much Michelle, the workmanship is so realistic.  I will be checking out your Etsy shop for sure.

Birdhouse at the Latest Mini Meet

Last Monday night at the miniature mini meet club we did a cool birdhouse with Elaine.  She had the birdhouses and the brick w/grout along with the little tiny petals and leaves for the clematis that she taught us to put together.  We supplied metal lids  for the base and  the green covered wire to attach the flowers and leaves to and this is the result.

I added a bird bath which is a head of a push pin attached to a plastic window hanger painted grey with some sand added to  look like cement with some clear finger nail polish to look like water.  I made my bird house to look like it had been standing for years.   I  pretty much achieved the look that I was going for.
Till next time, Mini Hugs, LJ
ps.  I just love pics because I see where one of my flowers has to be turned around.

Garden Shed Instructions

Hi Everyone

I saw this on a miniature group and thought I would pass it on...

Keep scrolling back on the arrow and you will get to the first page of instructions.  Enjoy....

Also I took my things back from the library display and thought you would like to see the clock and sconces that my friend Barbara made for me.  I had it hung in my Parlor before I put it in the library display but now I hung it in the DR cause I think it shows up better there and I like the diamonds in the diamond wallpaper as the background for them. I stole the hanging light from this room for Kayla's roombox. Now I have to get another, lol...

I still have to paint the chairs white and give them new cushions.  One of these days....
