Glitter Houses

Hi, if you follow my other blog you know that I bought a Silhouette Cameo.  Mostly for making greeting cards and to cut out appliques for quilts. You all know how I like to play.  I received a $10 purchase card to their site Silhouette Studio and I bought these 3 patterns to cut out on the machine. They were designed by Samantha Walker.  You can go to her website  or you can view some of her designs on Silhouette online studio.  These have been so much fun to put together.  I have a Church to do but not designed from this same person. I think it will be just as cute.  I mean really, what is a Christmas Village without a Church?  Off to the craft store for more glitter stock.
These are soooooo cute.  My mom had a set back in the 50's that were bought at Woolworth's. Not quite as elaborate, but I used to wait every year for those little houses to come out at Christmas.  Mom would let me set them on the shelf very carefully.  Haven't a clue what happened to them but they were made of cardboard so hard to keep in tact down thru the ages, lol...
The snowman scene was made by a friend from the Mini Club and part of the Secret Santa exchange.  It is darling and I love it....
I have to find more bottle brush trees to add to the scenery.

Croquet Set

Hi All, Hope you are all having a great summer.  I was in my workshop doing some greeting cards, and thought "wow, I haven't done a mini in a long while" so here is my attempt at a miniature croquet set.  All it needs is balls, lol...  1/4" wooden ones if I can find them.  If not then I will use beads.

Folding Screen Fini

The folding screen is done and here is the pic:

The bottom of the screen came out wavy in pic but it isn't. It looks more like linen.  Color is true though.
Anyway, done.  Not sure what I will do with it yet as there is no room in the house.  What does that mean? Maybe a room box.  We will work that out in the fall.  As of right now it is gardening and sewing time of the year, so I will be away from the mini site for the summer months.  Look for me on Our Cozy Abode.  Thanks Blogging mini buddies...

Doing some minis

Hi all, Went to a Fun Day that one of the NAME clubs has and it lived up to it's name.  It was a very fun day.  Rode down with a friend from our mini club.  It started early. Like 8:00 early so by the time we got out of there at 4:30 and rode home it was 6:00.  Was tired, but worth it.  Met Jeannie girl there (A romantic country home) and we took both classes together so it was indeed a happy time. Jean gave me these cute things she picked up at a NAME show she went to a while back.  Here is what she brought me

Too Dang Cute!!!

Here is what I made at the fun day

The painting was a Phyllis Hawkes class and the trug (the pinecone holder) was a Bonnie Backe class.  The little tray was a give away.  Also we each received a wooden fireplace to finish. Sorry didn't get a picture of it.  I will show it when I do it up.

The lady I rode down with got this amazing doll house for free.  With scads of things in it.  It was a bit old and will need some work.  I cant wait to see what she does with it.  I wish I had my camera so I could of shown you it.  It had a green house attached to it.  Really cool....

Off to get something accomplished.  Talk to ya later.  Mini hugs, Lady Jane

Screen/room divider

HI.....  I know I haven't been around for a while and I will be fortunate if anyone is still checking in on me.  I am sorry.  We are hanging in there and not sick but I should post that I wont be here for awhile when life gets in the way.

Here is what we are making in the mini club.  When finished it will be a screen/room divider.

Note the little finials at the top.

And the little feet at the bottom

When we get the hinges on I will post

The final picture......
Hope all is well with you all and I will try to be a better blogger.

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I have been sewing up a storm which you can check out over at Our Cozy Abode and haven't done much in mini's recently.  I will....  I have promised myself I will do the 1/4 scale John Craig Inn

I bought from Young at Heart ages and ages ago...This is the mini project for 2014.  I just have to put in 2 new lights in my craft room.  They are u-shaped florescents.   Home Depot told me I could find them on line (more expensive than they used to be) but they wont be selling them anymore because they are being fazed out.Another pain in the butt Government savings plan which is fine if it really does what it is supposed to do,  but now I have to have the lights completely changed over. I think this is a gimmick to keep the economy going. I hate to be forced into doing something. Especially when I have more pressing things to do around the house. Oh well I am not here to complain I am lucky to have 2 rooms, one for sewing and that is where I have been spending my time.

I also want you to try the website  It is a blog that Babette Overman is running for NAME ORG and it is wonderful.  Give it a try.  If you haven't become a member of NAME check it out. The membership is very reasonable and you get this great magazine full of great things.

Till next time, LJ
